Detailing Techniques
The object of detailing is to clean and polish while maintaining the integrity of your clear coat, Chrome, and Windshield.
There is nothing worse than having your paint job full of swirl marks, scratched chrome and a windshield you cannot see through!
Stay away from abrasive products such as:
Wax
Sponges
Rags
Clear coats do not have to be waxed.
That's why they were invented.
If you want to wash you bike, never take a sponge or cloth to your clear coat, chrome or windshield. If you want to wash those areas deep within and your frame, take a cloth like the Micro Fiber Cloth and use a product like the Cherry Bike Wash to clean with and do not use soap. Soap attracts dirt.
Don't overuse products that you spray on, wait a while and wash off because that product is eating into areas you don't want it to. Such as your electrical system. It's also rusting bolts and getting into seals and gaskets. It may be convenient, but it's not in your best interest.
If you have to clean aluminum, our metal polish will do it quickly and will not scratch. If you put Captain Richard's Best on afterwards, it will help to seal it even more and to the surface, which you cannot see and make it shine a little more.
Probably as important as anything are the cloths, you use on your bike. People do as much damage with cloths as with anything else.
Cloths like the Micro Fiber are designed to enable you to remove light road dust, or dry your machine without scratching the surface. Never ever use paper towels, regular cotton towels or hotel towels. Normal cotton cloths will scratch amd sponges are bad.
One thing about chrome, don't buy chrome polish. Chrome is already polished when you buy it and Captain Richard's Best will clean and protect you chrome and make it absolutely beautiful.
If you follow these simple steps you will keep your machine looking good and maintain it's value. There is nothing that feels any better than getting on a clean machine and heading down the highway.
One thing about cloths you use on your vehicles. It's okay to wash and hang to dry. But do not use fabric softener.

PS: My wheel to the right is a 10 year old aluminum wheel and people think it's chrome, but it's not!! That's what a good metal polish can do for you.
Someday you may want to sell or trade your machine and someone will always buy a bike which looks good and runs like crap before they will buy one which runs great and looks like crap. BOM's AWAY and have fun!!!
